A Home for Every Child
At Hosanna Orphanage, we believe that every child deserves to grow up surrounded by love, compassion, and respect. Our mission goes far beyond simply providing food or shelter; we are not just a feeding camp or a rescue centre. We are a home, a place where every child is nurtured to discover their worth, their potential, and their place in the world.
Our director, Mr. Japhet, understands this calling deeply. Having been raised in an orphanage himself, he knows firsthand the unique challenges and hopes of orphaned children. His life experience has shaped the heart of our mission to raise children with care, wisdom, and understanding.
When schools close, our children are placed temporarily in the homes of dedicated caregivers families with a father, mother, and siblings. This gives our children the opportunity to experience what real family life looks and feels like. During these stays, they learn important life skills such as cooking, fetching water, and even planting crops. These lessons prepare them for independent and responsible living.
We are deeply grateful to the families who open their homes and hearts to these children, sometimes for weeks or even months at a time. However, we also acknowledge that this can be a great challenge for them. Welcoming extra children into their homes often brings additional financial and emotional responsibilities.
We kindly ask for your prayers for these wonderful families that God may bless them, strengthen them, and provide for their needs as they continue to share their love and homes with our children.
This practice of placing children in family based care is in line with the Government of Kenya’s policy encouraging home-based care over institutional living. At Hosanna Orphanage, we fully support this initiative as we believe that every child thrives best within a loving family environment.
Together, with your prayers and support, we continue to nurture the next generation children who know love, live with dignity, and grow with hope.
